If it's as simple as you think it is, what should I have done with my bill for $1,639 when I was quoted "between $200-$300"?
http://www.healthinsurancec...

Re: Why Our Health Care Costs Are Running Wild

Just because the government/tax payers are large users of health care does not mean they have the right to determine what doctors pay. When a physician owns their own practice and has gone through many years of training to where they are you can pay what they ask or move on to another doctor.

What do you do for a living? If I want your services may I dictate what you charge?

Re: Why Our Health Care Costs Are Running Wild

Outstanding article... however, many Americans are now in
a position to chose between a paying full price for their
health plan (meaning no employer subsidized options) and
paying the bills.

The average premium for an average family is $907 a month.

When your health insurance costs "run wild" - and you're
faced with paying 100% out of your own pocket for the monthly
premium, consider your options and determine how best to invest
that 10 grand (or what ever your total annual premium).

How can you put that money to work for YOU?

Many of my clients opt for a low cost CDHC plan to help
with their health care costs below $2500, match that with
a high deducible health plan on the back side to protect them
from catastrophic financial lose, and invest the difference in
to a health savings account.

The combined total cost of owning a CDHC plan and HDH plan
is a fraction of the typical 80 / 20 insurance policy.

That leaves money in your bank account to pay the bills,
or if you choose, to put a portion of the balance in to a
Health Savings Account, which is tax free when you contribute,
and tax deductible when you use the funds for medical purposes.

Just a rational thought.

Re: Why Our Health Care Costs Are Running Wild

Great post on health care costs. It’s great to see bloggers covering health care as we approach next week’s election. It is, without a doubt, an important and complex issue. Costs are really out of control. Here at Public Agenda we’ve put together an informative non-partisan guide that focuses on the facts and on the plethora of perspectives surrounding the health care debate in America.
